Smith provides legal representation for tribal organizations in federal, state and tribal courts. Smith is a successful trial and appellate attorney and prosecutor. He has drafted volumes of law for the Cherokee Nation. He is licensed to practice law in Oklahoma, the 10th Circuit, the U.S. Supreme Court and several tribal courts. He established litigation policies for the Cherokee Nation that resulted in victories in contract support cost recovery in the United States Supreme Court and recognition of water rights in federal court.
