Why Team Cherokee?
A team works together for a common cause. Only when each team member works together with other team members can success and championships be achieved. There are no grandstanders or show-offs on a great team. Team members are respectful of fellow team members. Good team members are not motivated by  selfish and personal interests. On a great team there are players with talent  and positive attitude. The Cherokee Nation and our people can no longer afford  council members who refuse to work together for the betterment of our fellow  Cherokees, and those who continue to fight against instead of working together  with the administration to find the best solutions. The Cherokee people are  tired of council members who pursue petty fights, make insulting remarks in  the press about other elected officials, pander for votes with the Cherokee  Nation’s money, don’t go to meetings and then complain afterward in their  ignorance, and who fail to communicate with their constituents. The Cherokee  people deserve and want positive and effective leaders who roll up their  sleeves and work together as a team to get the job done on behalf of the  people they serve and represent.

Communicate With Each Other, Practice Civility & Honor Statesmanship
Communicate with each other, decide questions based on fact not personality. Be civil to each other.

Promote Self-Sufficiency
Help people help themselves and compassionately help those among us like our elders, children and others who can’t help themselves.

Protect Jobs & Businesses
Protect tribal businesses and thousands of Cherokee jobs by allowing Cherokee business board of directors to make professional business decisions free from political sabotage.

Resolve Issues Internally, Respect Our Laws & Constitution
Resolve issues internally rather than running to the press or outside groups. Respect the separation of governmental powers by understanding the respective duties, and responsibilities of the three branches of the Cherokee Nation Government: The Cherokee Tribal Council (Legislative Branch) - Our Courts (Judicial Branch)and Office of The Principal Chief (Executive Branch.) Ensure accountability at every level of our government.

Put Cherokee People First
Do what is good for the Cherokee Nation and our people for the long term. Make wise, visionary decisions that ensure our Cherokee people, nation and culture flourish and prosper now and in future generations.
