We have come a long way since Chad was elected to serve in 1999. I am proud of the progress made to revitalize our culture and language with immersion classes for our youngest Cherokees and college curriculum to train Cherokee language teachers for our public schools. It’s a joy for me to be able to speak Cherokee to a new generation of our nation’s children.

 I’m also proud of the thousands of new jobs the Cherokee Nation has created, and the expanded services to our communities. It has been inspiring to meet Cherokees in every community and from around the country who share my husband’s vision for a self-sufficient Nation. Creating jobs means that our youth won’t have to move away to find a good job, or the best educational opportunities. Chad and I are looking forward to visiting with you as we begin another election campaign. Thank you for your continued support. The Cherokee Nation is headed in the right direction, and we are excited about the opportunity to continue the progress.
