Message From Principal Chief Chad Smith

My Fellow Cherokee Citizens,

Thank you for the honor of serving. The last four years of service have been a remarkable journey. Since 1999, we have worked together to re-establish a calm, accountable government.

We have accomplished those things that we said we would do. There is still much more work to be done. Working together, we can successfully meet the challenges of growth and change ahead.

I am committed to working hard to help build a self-sufficient nation in which all Cherokee families and communities can flourish and prosper. I am asking for your support, your prayers and your vote on May 24, 2003. Let us continue to focus on issues that unite us instead of things that divide us.

We are too great a nation to limit ourselves to small dreams. Working together let us continue to build on the foundation of accomplishments established the last four years.

Wado!

Principal Chief Chad Smith
